Avocado, Baby

I feel like I just won a trip to Disneyland. John was out in the driveway yesterday and noticed an avocado on the ground. Hmmm. He looked up into the giant tree that overhangs our driveway. Holy guacamole. (sorry, I had to say it) It's a giant avocado tree! I've dreamed of living in a house with an avocado tree all my life...

So, I'm officially titling this the "Summer of Guacamole". Ironically, I'm growing tomatoes, red onion, cilantro and jalapenos in my garden this year. I've decided to share my special guacamole recipe with you. You'll never think of guacamole in the same way again. Here you go.

Jen's Guacamole
(serves 6 typical people, or 2-4 people who eat guacamole like we do)

8-10 ripe avocados, pitted and chopped
1 jalapeno, seeded and finely diced
1 vine ripe tomato, chopped
1 bunch cilantro, chopped
1/2 red onion, finely diced
1/2 cup sour cream
1 lime, fresh squeezed
Tabasco and garlic salt to taste
Kosher salt and fresh ground black pepper to taste

Mash avocado with fork, stir in ingredients and scoop away.
