Cleaning + Organization = Happy

I know I've previously professed my love for the Crate & Barrel Outlet, but did I tell you they have fabulous cleaning supplies?

I'm in LOVE with my velcro squeeze mop and duster from Way Clean. The mop heads pull off and get thrown in the wash, and Lincoln even likes to dust now. The grocery bag holder from SimpleHuman makes the poopy diaper removal much easier, and my utility gripper will save my back from reaching behind the fridge every time for the broom. At outlet prices. Plus, they look cute in my house which is top priority for cleaning supplies.

Even though I wish the outlet shop wasn't 30 minutes away, it has probably saved me lots of moola. I have to really ponder my purchases from there and decide if they are really needed. (John and my definitions of "need" are different, but I'm sure you agree with me)

My "almost 40" hands are needing these adorable green gloves to stave off the wrinkles. I'm going to be picking up a few of these orange tubs to corral the boys' legos and blocks. I love the idea of these dryer balls to make my laundry fluffy, and give me more reason to avoid my iron. Last but not least, this ironing blanket is an essential for the future of  My Three Sons Designs. I'd really like to sit and iron in front of the Kardashians instead of standing at my ironing board. Priorities people.

Purge Week Pics : Linen Closet

I think it's pretty brave of me to show you the before picture of my linen closet. Yuck. But one hour, and two trash bags later, voila. Complete bliss.
How can one person own that many lotions and shampoo? New Year's resolution...check the linen closet BEFORE going to Target.

Next up...the junk drawer.

They do Windows

One of Harrison's gifts from us this year was a mini cleaning set. He loves to sweep and vacumn. John thought I was a little over the top with the kitchen and cleaning sets. But I think I'm just being proactive.

Future wives of my boys, you can thank me later.

Purge Week Pics

Oh, it feels good to toss, donate and organize. First closet down. I even fit John's new golf bag and cart in this closet. Onto the next project...linen closet.

Here's a little taste of what I'd like my linen closet to look like.

But I'll be happy if I can find a towel and bar of soap as needed. If you don't hear from me by friday send someone in after me please.

Purge Week No. 1 : Hall Closet

This week is about clearing out the junk. Since we moved just a little over a year ago, how did we accumulate so much stuff again? That's a whole other issue.

But anyways, this week is about clearing out, organizing and starting fresh in 2010. Here's today project, the hall closet. For us, it's the stairs closet, an even better spot for stowing away things you don't want guests to see. Check back for my own before and after pics tomorrow.

Here are some good tips from Real Simple.

Wish me luck.
