I love the idea of a raised bed garden. My friend Brooke has raised beds all over her front yard and it's beautiful. The notched boxes above would be wonderful to have, but this raised bed tutorial from Sunset might be more in line with my carpentry skills.

I've gardened in raised beds for years & think it's the only way to garden. They're easy to make & maintain & as an added bonus for you, each of your munchkins can have their own bed to plant, weed & harvest! They're never to young to start being farmers. Go for it!!
