Liberty School 2007 Cuvee | A delicious blend of Syrah, Petite Syrah, Grenache, Mourvede and Viognier. Made by the Hope family of Paso Robles, CA. Very quickly becoming my favorite CA wine region. I found this bottle at Von's for 7.99. Here's a very detailed review by Michael McVittie:
It's just the thing for ribs, pizza and burgers after work. The nose is humid and spicy, with cherry-orange fruits and an interesting perfumed lift. Very ripe, but not cooked, the deep rich cherry-cola fruits are nicely fleshed. A chewy long glycerol finish completes the picture providing texture and grip. Its high value will make your pocket book happy. Costs about $10.
Try pairing this wine with these Sweet and Smoky Oven Spareribs from Smitten Kitchen and Giada's Panzanella. Perfect late summer meal.
