New Year's Day | Tamale Making Party

 

Besides watching football, New Year's Day is always a bit of a slow end to the holiday season. This year we happily attended Andi & Beston's 2nd Annual tamale making party. (after a bit of football watching, of course...the end of fantasy football, horray!)

Everyone brings a favorite tamale filling or drink (homemade horchata, yum), and they provided the masa and banana leaves. We marked the tamales with different color paper so you knew what you were about to bite into. Add beans and salad on the side, and it's the perfect activity + meal for a big crowd. Fun to get to know people as you talk and wrap tamales together.

Ageless

Birthdays are about celebrating the unique, special person, not focusing on a number, right? Especially this year. 

We had the privilege of celebrating Andi's "birthday without a number" last night at Il Fornaio. Beautiful bay view. Incredible food...calamari, seafood pasta, butternut squash ravioli, tiramisu, and more. 

But my favorite part of the night was hearing incredible stories from Andi's first (fill in the blank) years of life. Knowing Andi is at the top of my "best things about moving to San Diego" list. Cheers to you and your graceful entry into the next decade!
